decent but needs more work

We bought this bike for our son and I have to say I was very excited once I got it out of the box and got it together in about 15 minutes (that is the honest time it will take anyone to get it together). Once my son went to sit it was clear that he needed at least 2 more inches. He is 34 inches tall with an 11.25 inch inseam.
I think the manufacturer should adjust the design to fit children with 11+ inseams. This is actually the high end inseams for 24-29 months. If the claim on the box says (2-5 years old) Then I think they should fit the average child at the start of the age range.
Additionally, once I looked over the bike more carefully I did see that wheels were rotating with a wobble.
I think overall the bike is decent out of the box and it looks like it might hold up well for a few years I think the manufacturer should look closely at two things. Fit and quality control.

Junk!!!

Overall material and hardware of poor quality. Wood beggining to delaminate. Front and rear wheel hubs unable to sustain weight of 28 lbs. toddler. Had to glue bike back together as well as replace all bolts. Better off buying a toddler bike and removing pedals and crankset.

Great great great

We purchased this bike as a second birthday present for our son. He quickly took to it, and is now (7 months later) coasting with his feet up. The bike is really well built and well thought out: nothing can pinch. The rubberized handlebar ends are great for reducing the shock when he drops it on the floor. I think that this will make the transition to a "real" bike so much easier.

Fabulous Bike!

My husband and I bought this bike for our nephew's 2nd birthday. I am not sure how tall he is, maybe a little on the tall side for a 2 year old... Anyways, he was just the right height for the lowest seat setting, and from the moment he saw it, he LOVED it. It only took him about 15 minutes to be able to steer it around without loosing control--and in only a few weeks his balance on it was remarkably improved. I know that it is definitely preparing him to ride a 2-wheeler much better than training wheels would! Oh, it was also REALLY easy to put together. I will definitely be remembering this bike when I have my own children. By far his favorite toy.

I purchased this for my daughters 2nd birthday. It is a beautiful bike. She was 31" tall at the time and I assumed she would be able to ride it. Still at 25 months and 32" she is too short to push the bike on her own. It is taking up storage space in my closet. I wish I would have seen the Strider before I made my purchase. The seat seems to go a lot lower on their models. DARN!

Saw the Skuut on Sesame Street

I first saw a "walking bike" on Sesame Street, when
Grover went to the Netherlands and hung out with a girl named Madelief. Since everyone in the Netherlands uses bikes to get around, they have figured out the easiest and most fun way for small children to learn to ride, and let me tell you, it does NOT involve dorky training wheels that keep you permanently tilted over to one side and don't help develop balance or coordination at all.
After I saw this ingenious walking bike, I had to get one for my son. I brought it out when he was 2 years old and he has been wild for biking ever since. It took him a little while to get the hang of it...at first he just used it like a hobbyhorse and didn't really go anywhere. But very soon he was whizzing around, coasting, going up and down curbs, the works. And this bike will continue to be fun for him for years to come, or at least until his baby brother takes it over.

Love the Skuut

I honestly don't know why these aren't more popular in this country. The skuut is awesome and great fun for the whole family. At just 2.5-years and after a total of 15-minutes, our son is able to balance while standing still and walk the bike without assistance - we lay out leaves for him to roll over and he loves it!
Friends of ours are professional mtn bikers and we spoke with them about how much to spend on one. They all agreed that the likeabike's were way overrated and I would have to agree. Putting this together took seconds, it's sturdy enough for use by even the most aggressive toddler (or largest)... there's no reason to pay the high price tag unless you want the brand recognition.

Practice makes balance

I have to say that my daughter wasn't excited about the Skuut when I first showed it to her, since it's not girly and there wasn't a princess in sight, but she kept yelling to her Dad to give her a push! It took her a few times to feel really comfortable on it and now she loves it. I was one mom who was completely frustrated by training wheels and watching her fall over. Thank you to the great customer service at runbikes.com for answering all my questions.

Great Bike

My husband and I really shopped around for a run bike. We were going to go for a likeabike, but couldn't stomach the price. Went with the SKuut and LOVE it. Our friend has the likeabike and honestly, it doesn't seem as sturdy or attractive. we would definitely recommend this
